Tutong Hua Ho Meet

Tutong Hua Ho Gathering this time is pack with many players I had not met before! Some of them left early and din got the chance to have a group photo with them. Nevertheless, it was over all fun!! And congratez to Safwan winning the Follow The Lead Competiton! He got himself a Duncan Tee sponsor by Yo-Splinter Enterprise!! Yay!!

So when is our next gathering you asked? It will be on the 15th and 29th August!! There will be no competition for next month gathering ask the Muslim is having a Fasting month! So it will be more like Tricks Sharing and practice session and most important, having fun time together!!! See you all next month!!

Preparing for a freestyle.

So how do you prepare for a competition? Here's what Stuart will do to prepare for his 1 min freestyle.

1) Choose a song. The song should be suit to the style that you plan to play. Fast beat doesn't always a good choice. For starter, would suggest to choose something slow.
2) Plan your skill list. Write down all the skill that had master and will perform well. Plan with the song on the combos to combine.
3) Practice the freestyle for 1-2 hours a days, repeating the skill might seem boring, but it will boost up your perfection in executing it. If you found out any new route to the combos, do try out and see how it goes.
4) Watch videos to get ideas of new skills, but stick to your preplanned songs and style adding newly learned skill to the combos.
5) Practice makes perfect, so keep on practicing and never think that you have lame skill, JUST SPIN IT!!!

Maktab Sains Anti-Drugs Family Carnival

:D It was a fun day. Players from Tutong, Bandar and also Temburong come and visit for the fun!! Some of them learned new skill that day and improved! the morning performance was done by Stuart, not so great, but a Hayabusa was given out as a gift to a teenage boy who answered one question correctly. Edward arrived around lunch time. During the afternoon performance, Stuart, Edward and also Aqilul went on stage and woo the crowds!!!!

So I had come out with a competition suddenly! I'm starting to prepare stuff n bits for BNYC 2011 ( Brunei National YoYo Championship). As i was thinking of a backdrop / Logo for this awesome event, i asked myself, why not i let you guys to do the design, and when who's design is been selected and used for the event backdrop, he/she will be the winner!

1) This competition is open to Brunei Yoyo players only.
2) Each person can only send in one design. So Make Your Best!
3) Design related to Brunei Culture would be great.
4) Make sure your design is done in high resolution. ( I don't mind to receive high MB of picture, if you cannot send it via mail, then transfer the file to me during the gathering)
5) I will announce the prize this month end!!! It will be fabulous!!

July Gathering

So when is our next gathering you ask? here we go~:-

Date :- 11th July 2010
Venue:- Yayasan, near KFC.

1) Usual Practice (12pm - 2pm) :- practice of yoyo tricks, basic trick assessment and intermediate trick assessment.

2) Ice Breaker (2pm - 3.30pm) :- Master of Tricks Followers! This is just a practice on a new games. we form a circle and each of us hold a yoyo (responsive or non-responsive 1A). One player starts off with a single tricks / simple combos. Then the others have to follow the same moves. Whoever fails to complete the tricks will be eliminated. No second attempt is allowed. If the starter fails to perform a tricks, the chances goes to the players next to him/her.

3) Q&A (3.30pm - 4pm) :- Discuss / ask / give any ideas for up coming gathering / events.
